Rachmaninov String Quartet

Rachmaninov String Quartet (Sochi, Russia) Rachmaninov String Quartet was formed in the Sochi State Philharmonic in 1978. The quartet has toured throughout Russia and abroad, became the winner of the All-Union competition. In 1995 the grandson of the great composer Sergei Rachmaninov was approved to the Sochi Philharmonic String Quartet was named after the great composer. Rachmaninov Quartet has performed brilliantly in European countries such as England, France, Germany, Austria, Norway, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Slovenia, Hungary, Ireland. It was played more than 4000 program in the best halls of Europe: Gasteig Concert House in Munich, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, concert hall Bach in Frankfute, Schlosskonzerte in Salzburg, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Château de Versailles in Versailles, the palace of Sanssouci in Potsdam, Kölner Dom (Cologne Cathedral), Cologne. Rachmaninov Quartet was entrusted with the first performance of works by Soviet composers: Boris Tchaikovsky, Alfred Schnittke, Shirvani Chalaeva, Petr Belyi, as well as foreign composers - Albert Cola, Thomas Heinz. The Rachmaninov Quartet played the legendary Orchestra under Vladimir Fedoseyev. He has performed with outstanding pianists: USSR People's Artist Krainev; USSR People's Artist Nikolai Petrov; composer Vladimir Tishchenko; People's Artist of the Russia, the founder of the Quartet Borodin Valentin Berlinsky. In 2014, at the personal Gergiev invitation of the Mariinsky Theatre, the first time in the history of culture in Sochi held the brilliant performance of Rachmaninov Quartet and soloist Tatiana Balikoeva (piano) on the best stages of Russia, in the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre with a solo program. In February 2015 the team continues touring in Moscow at the opening of the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
